Program Manager

Job Title: Program Manager

Position: Full-time, exempt

Location: Ventura, California

Salary: $60,500

Position Overview

The Program Manager is responsible for the management and implementation of CFROG’s programs and works to ensure that program goals are met. Programs include a Community Air Grant from the California Air Resources Board, youth educational and volunteer programs, coalition participation, and climate policy tracking and research. This work is done in partnership and collaboration with the Associate Executive Director and Outreach Coordinator. 

This position is full-time, exempt, with a flexible schedule of 40 hours per week. This position has flexible hours and may include evening and weekend work. The position will report to the Associate Executive Director and will largely work out of CFROG’s office in Ventura. 

Program Manager responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage and coordinate Community Air Grant activities – including air monitoring efforts and green workforce development promotion
  • Development and implementation of the Environmental Voices Academy (EVA), serving as a facilitator and mentor in the creation of student-led environmental advocacy projects
  • Serve as point-person and resource for CFROG youth volunteer group
  • Participate and serve as an organizational representative at various local and state coalition calls and meetings
  • Track city and county climate policy developments, work with the Outreach Coordinator to encourage community input in the decision-making process via Action Alerts
  • Collaborate with the Associate Executive Director in the drafting and presentation of letters and public comments advocating for climate action, transition away from fossil fuels, environmental justice, and good governance and democratic practices
  • Assist in program-related grant reporting requirements and track program activities and progress
  • Assist in research analysis and the development of written materials that support advocacy campaigns in environmental and climate justice, including learning to track local oil and gas permitting developments

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred but not required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Able to set own work priorities, manage responsibilities, and time
  • Be able to develop trainings and materials
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Experience with and desire to work with diverse cultures and the ability to engage people from a variety of backgrounds
  • Ability to work in a computerized environment and have adequate knowledge of word processing, email, internet, spreadsheet software, and at least basic social media proficiency
  • Flexibility and willingness to sometimes work long hours and weekends, and be able to travel throughout the region

Compensation

Starting pay for this full-time position is $60,500. Benefits include paid sick time, holidays and flexible paid vacation days, a monthly stipend for use of a cell phone, and professional development opportunities.
