Professor of Environmental Science and Resource Management at California State University Channel Islands, Dr. Sean Anderson, will take us back in time to explore how plastics emerged from the booming fossil fuel industry in the 1950s and led our lives to be littered with plastics and microplastics today. Beyond the gas that powers our cars and homes, fossil fuels are present in the form of plastics in our soil, our clothing, our water, and more.
